ConnectiCOSH Continues As A Working Member of The Coalition For A Safe & Healthy Connecticut

ConnectiCOSH has been actively involved in banning toxic chemicals in consumer products over the last four years.  While ConnectiCOSH is proud of its past successes in passing legislation that protects both both workers ans consumers, It is excited to be participating in a legislative effort to create a more comprehensive approach to banning harmful chemicals in 2012.  This statewide effort is occurring because of the unsuccessful efforts thus far at the federal level to overhaul the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976, which has not been able to sufficiently protect the public and the environment  from the effects of toxic chemicals.  While the fate of the Safe Chemicals Act is being determined in Congress, ConnectiCOSH & The Coalition For A Safe & Healthy Connecticut's other member organizations are leading a charge to make chemical policy reform a priority for its lawmakers.
