Until her recent retirement from state service, Anne Bracker was the Program Manager for CONN-OSHA's private sector on-site consultation program. In this capacity she and her team helped small employers identify and control workplace hazards and prevent work-related injuries, illnesses, and fatalities. Before joining CONN-OSHA Ms. Bracker worked for the Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at UCONN Health in Farmington, CT and Federal OSHA in Hartford, CT. She has been certified in the Comprehensive Practice of Industrial Hygiene since 1991.
Louis Rosado Burch, CEA Legislative Coordinator- Louis has 15+ years' public policy experience, with a focus on environmental health. He co-chairs the CT Coalition for Healthy School Environments and sits on the CT General Assembly's School Indoor Air Quality Working Group. Under Louis' leadership, CEA was awarded ConnectiCOSH's Organizational Health and Safety award for their continued and effective advocacy on school IAQ.
Mike began his career as a Vertical Mill Machinist at Pratt & Whitney in 2019, where he was first introduced to union safety initiatives through a colleague and activist who encouraged him to fill a vacancy on the Health and Safety Committee. In 2022, Mike took on the role of Union Health and Safety Representative, immersing himself in all aspects of workplace health and safety. His dedication and leadership led to his election as Chief Health and Safety Representative in 2024. For Mike, involvement in safety is more than a responsibility—it is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of his colleagues by improving their work environment, roles, and overall well-being. He remains committed to honoring the legacy of those who came before him while continuously striving to answer the question: "How can we be better?"
William Lewis started his career at Electric Boat in 1990 as a Shipfitter. He completed the Shipfitter apprentice program in 1993 and then transferred into the Marine Draftsmen Association, Local 571. While in the MDA, Bill worked as a designer on many submarine components. He worked closely with safety representatives as a Union Councilor and later as a Treasurer for the MDA. Bill was elected President of his local in 2012 and is currently serving his 4th term. He was assigned the position of Board Chair for SECT United Way in 2020 and is currently the Chair of the Community Action Program for UAW Region 9A.
As President of the MDA-UAW Local 571, he is proud to be supportive of safety initiatives, including sending 571 Safety Reps to safety conferences and ConnectiCOSH events whenever possible. Bill participates in weekly safety meetings with other union leadership at Electric Boat. With his support, Local 571 participates in the United Way UCANN training held annually in the United Way office in Gales Ferry. Bill's local participates in the annual Workers' Memorial Day event held on April 28th at the Washington Park Memorial in Groton. He is honored to play a prominent role in that event. He is also honored to be the MC of the UAW Region 9A Veterans Dinner Dance for the past few years. Bill loves to volunteer in the community including taking part in Days of Caring at Coogan Farm, food show collections at the Casinos, Tommy Toy distributions and many food distributions to those in need.
Maribel Rodriguez worked in healthcare for thirty years as a CNA at a nursing home. She has served as a Delegate for District 1199 SEIU for over 20 years and was an active member of the Political Organizer. Maribel served as an Executive Board Member for 2 years. She served as a Board member for the CT Citizen Research Group, CCAG's 501(c)(3) and was a delegate for the CT Western Area Labor Federation before being elected to the position of President of the CT ALF. Since retiring Maribel is a member of the NVP Environmental Justice organization and has recently become an Advisory Board Member of Connecticosh.
Peter E. Baker is the President of the Metal Trade Council of New London, CT. Pete has shown dedication to workplace health and safety in the years he was a rank-and-file firefighter and since becoming an officer of the Metal Trades Council in 1990. He has always been proactive in identifying workplace hazards whether they affected firefighters or other members of MTC. Pete's career began with a six-week summer job at Electric Boat as a Firefighter represented by Laborers Local 364. At the end of the six weeks, he was offered a full-time position. Pete rose through the ranks quickly. He became a Steward in 1989 and was elected President of the Local and Delegate to the Metal Trades Council in 1990. He then was elected the Business Manager/Sec Treasurer of his local in 1993. He was also elected to be the Recording Secretary of the Metal Trades in 1995. In 1999, the Laborers Local 364 merged with Local 547. Pete was elected to the Executive Board and Delegate to the Conn Laborers District Council. He was elected Vice President of the Metal Trades in 2015 and appointed to fill the position of MTC PRESIDENT in 2020. Pete continues to serve as President of the Metal Trades Council and has been employed at Electric Boat for 42 years. Pete has actively supported ConnectiCOSH's focus on worker health and safety training and education and has made sure that his members had access to such training.
